St. Simeon Skete, Taylorsville Kentucky USA

With St. Simeon, the God receiver, as our patron, the skete seeks to practice the ideals found in our Rule, The Thousand Day Nazareth. In simplicity and poverty, the skete embraces the struggle of inner life through the practice of the Prayer Rope.

Spring is here...

Nazareth House Apostolate, St. Simeon Skete and its mission in Sierra Leone wish you a safe, happy and productive Spring and Summer.  With the longer days, warmer weather, vacations, attention to outdoor gardening and landscaping, students out of school - all the events that Summer brings, don't forget that in the busy-ness of the next few month's activities - we are here praying for all of you.

We ask that you please remember the work of Nazareth House Apostolate in your prayers and financial support as well.

The birds are returning to the skete from their Winter Homes.   Today the Rose Breasted Grosbeaks returned.  Here's a video of the adventures of their first day back to the St. Simeon Skete Bird Feeders.

To the Grosbeaks we say, Keep calm and Eat Seed

and to the rest of you we say....

St Simeon Skete has abundant wild bird and animal life, you can follow St.Simeon Skete Tweets on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sketetweets
