Email from James to Mama Vicki: Compound Update

Hey Mama,

I hooked up with Anthony, the builder,  in downtown Freetown,

the other day and saw the windows & frames he is fixing for the compound.

There is a lot of wrap-up work going on in Kabala on the Compound

and I guess (if the money is there to pay off what we owe) we will soon see a completed Compound for us to move in.

He said he has used up all the last money that you sent on windows (glass windows with wire mesh) panel doors etc.

He is now targeted to transport all these works of wood to Kabala this week.

So expect a good look at the Compound with more details

completed and better pictures soon.

He said the well was left out for now till the rains dry down.

That way the water table is fully settled. He looks on to do more work as soon as he gets more money from us.

You told me that money has been very slow last few weeks, I pray that people see the need to complete this project and begin sending in more money soon.

What is it we have left, like $30,000?

That is such a small amount compared to millions other Humanitarian Organizations spend on their Office Centers.

We are a team at NHA and I know we can do this, we can make this happen.  We are so close to reaching our goal.   I know many are struggling and have little to give NHA - but somehow they always manage to give of their little.
God knows this and sees them sacrifice for the poor in Sierra Leone.  I like Pa Barrie's words "The good deeds you do for others on earth are the skin you wear in heaven"   I like that.

It wont be too long and we will be told to move out of the current St. Laurence House. I can see the signs.  So if you can push to get the word out for people to help us, please do.  But mama, they have done a lot, make sure they know we are thankful for everything, especially all the lives here in Salone that are getting better from the hands of those who make it possible.

More later,
Son.
