The Shoes from the "We got Feet" Campaign are being distributed, one at a time, foot after foot. Many have been given out from St. Laurence House in Freetown
and along the way up to our school in Kabala.
Lots of happy children have new shoes! ... and many adults!
NHA was most pleased to present Chief Alie Mansaray of Kamasorrie Village with a nice new pair of red shoes.
There are a lot of streams on the way to his village and these rubber shoes will come in very handy.
We are delighted to see Chief Alie looking well and healing up after his recent surgery in Kabala.
Fr. Seraphim traveled with James and Pa Foday to Kamasorrie Village
during our visit last month. They journeyed through the jungle vegetation,
crossing rivers
and streams to bring
the much needed
Vitamin A
which the village
requested for their
children's eye health.
It was during this visit that Chief Alie
Fr. Seraphim, Pastor (Pa) Foday & Chief Alie
confided in Fr. Seraphim that he was suffering a rather large hernia-one that was ready to rupture at any time.
Fr. Seraphim, through NHA, arranged for this surgery and paid for it.
Kamasorrie is one of our favorite villages.
We make every effort to keep them in supplies.
The beautiful people are so welcoming and dear to us.
A few years back when we made the trip to Kamasorrie Father Seraphim found a blue bead
which he placed on one of his sets of prayer beads.
To watch the story of the blue bead on our YouTube Channel click here. On this trip, he returned showing them that the same blue bead still remains on his beads,
a daily reminder of this village and its wonderful people.
