In Memory of Father Robert Haux, our beloved friend and priest! A Wonderful Night at Sammy D's...

Fr. Bob Haux and his wife, the lovely Mz Su

As I left St. Andrew's Church in West Point, Georgia, last Sunday, November 9th, I promised my dear friend, Father Bob Haux that I would share about our Nazareth House Chapter in LaGrange, Georgia by posting it on this blog by today, Saturday November 15th. My intentions are for you to get to know the various NHA Chapters around the USA and the work that they do. Over the past few weeks we've been introducing the NHA members living in Sierra Leone at St. Laurence House....it is now time to get to know those in the United States.

During Fr. Seraphim and my visit this week, we had a most enjoyable and wonderful time, celebrating friendship and the work of Nazareth House. This NHA Chapter in LaGrange/West Point Georgia is active in many aspects, Sammy D's being one, St. Andrew's Parish in West Point, Georgia, another and the group pictured below the other component of NHA LaGrange. All headed up by our beloved friend and priest, Fr. Bob Haux.

We began the LaGrange event at Sammy D's New York Pizza. Sammy D's New York Pizza in LaGrange Georgia is a splendid Italian Restaurant that I highly recommend, even if you don't live in the area, its worth the travel. Sammy D's is a supporter of the work of Nazareth House and even has a write-up about us on the menu. Sammy is a fabulous cook with a heart of gold.

Fr. Bob who creates some of the fantastic dishes at Sammy D's has his own parking spot.

The LaGrange NHA gang gathered at Sammy D's. It was a wonderful time and we enjoyed each other's company and the food was tremendous.

The Lovely Mz Su

During our travel back to Louisville, Kentucky this afternoon, we received a call that Fr. Bob had dropped the body and had been found at home this morning. I have no words to convey the heavy loss we are feeling as well as many, many others who have been blessed to have known Fr. Bob. He is one of those rare individuals with a giant heart, an attentive priest, a most trusted friend. This love transcends boundaries and borders as evidenced in his care, concern and love for St. Laurence House in Sierra Leone. NHA gives our utmost sympathy to his wife Su and his dear parishioners and friends from all around the globe.

We will greatly miss you my friend, We love you and may you rest in Peace.
